about Nozomi School

Our school was legally established as a Non-Profit Organization (Educational Corporation) with the Japanese name “Nozomi Gakuen" and the English name "Nozomi International Language School (Nozomi School)".

Nozomi Gakuen is a school where children who attend local schools on weekdays learn Japanese and Japanese culture on Saturdays.

Japanese is fun!

While respecting the individuality of children, we provide a place where they can learn a wide range of Japanese language education and Japanese culture.

Smiles and laughter

Our school is a place where children, parents, teachers, and staff, feels comfortable and are full of smiles and laughter.

In a bright and warm environment, students will learn that "Japanese is fun!"

Qualifications

Kindergarten

The child:

Should be able to understand the teacher's instructions in Japanese.

Has support at home in Japanese.

Has completed toilet training. 

 

Elementary School

The child:

Has one of the guardians is a native speaker of Japanese.

Be able to converse in Japanese and understand the teacher's instructions.

 

JASL/ Japanese as a Second Language

The Child:

Is interested in Japan and want to learn the language and culture.

Our Educational Philosophy

Kindergarten Classes

Kindergarten Classes: Incorporating the 5 areas of the Japanese Kindergarten Curriculum, “Health”, “Relationships”, “Environment”, “Language” and “Expression”, we will create a curriculum with a particular emphasis on “Language” and provide Japanese language education. In addition, holidays and events such as Children’s Day, Sports day, Christmas party, New Year's Day, Setsubun, Hinamatsuri, etc. are enjoyed while learning about the traditional Japanese culture.

Elementary School

Elementary School Classes:  Students learn Japanese using the same Japanese language textbooks and supplementary materials as elementary schools in Japan. In addition, the students will enjoy learning about the Japanese culture and events including, Children's Day, Sports day, Christmas party, New Year's Day, Setsubun, and Hinamatsuri.

JASL/ Japanese as a Second Language

JASL/ Japanese as a Second Language: This class is for children who are interested in Japan and want to learn the language and culture.
